Tropical forest fish

Parenti calls (most of) these "shorefishes" but it seems to me what they have in common is they're tropical forest fishes. Not river of lake or sea fishes, but forest stream fishes - it all starts with shorefishes though, Parenti got that right.

The reason sea-fish predate forest fish is because when sea-fishes evolved there were no forests, it wasn't until a mature forest ecosystem had developed so bugs could fall from trees into streams below until sea fish had a reason to stay in a steam they may have ventured too far up into.
